By Fiat Laboratories which we jointly conduct integrated into Koç Holding’s Vocational High Schools Are Our Country’s Future” project, we aim to raise technical work force who are well versed in new technologies in Turkish automotive industry and ensure such work force to be used in the industry. We work in collaboration with Ministry of National Education’s General Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education and through Fiat Laboratories we contribute to enhancement of motor vehicle technologies field of study of the industrial technical education schools and institutions.
Fiat Laboratories, which was first opened in Şişli Industrial Vocational School, increased its number of labs in Istanbul to 3 and its total number to 11 by opening a lab in Bursa, Kocaeli, Ankara, Antalya, İzmir, Adana, Samsun and Diyarbakır. Our Laboratories celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2016.
Number of pupils who were trained at and graduated from Fiat Laboratories has reached to 1,750 as of 2017. The pupils of Fiat Laboratories complete their apprenticeship during their educational lives at Fiat Authorized Services in the cities they are living. Thus, they have the chance to translate the theoretical training they received into practical information within a very short period of time. They have preferential employment chance at our Fiat Authorized Services and Tofaş Factory’s production lines.
Every year both Fiat Laboratories’ Instructors and Teachers of Engine Profession Departments located in various cities of Turkey (600 vocational high school teachers) benefited from In-Service Training Program organized for ensuring personal development and teaching newly emerged technologies to the instructors who are working at Fiat Laboratories. Every year, Vehbi Koç Foundation gives scholarship to 330 students among the students who were training at Fiat Laboratories within the scope of “Vocational High Schools Are Our Country’s Future”.
